These are high profile, high impact ads and they are the main feature in an email. The subject line of the email reflects the content of the HTML advert, for maximum impact. They are especially good for advertising events or workshops and anything which needs a big response in a short period of time.
These are aimed at the budget conscious advertiser who wishes to advertise a service (or regularly occurring events) over a long period of time. They appear in a list below the main feature in each email I send out in a year. I send 2 - 4 emails per week, so that's at least 96 emails per 48 weeks (almost a year). Text ads may be altered at any time.
a 780 x 150 pixel high impact banner ad near the top of each email sent out in your chosen period. The banners can change at any time to reflect new content, and they are linked to your web site.
You supply the banner artwork. If you need a banner created for you, that can also be done for you.
The fourth option is exclusive sponsorship of Cape Town news for a 12 month period.
This option allows you to redesign the template used for sending out all emails using your company's colours, graphics and layout, provided that existing advertisers continue to get the ad spots they have paid for.
Your logo can be placed in the masthead. You also get a 780 x 450 pixel spot (triple height banner) at the top of each email to display a banner and other promotional information, which you can update on a weekly basis, if necessary.
Detailed Message Statistics and Tracking
The advertiser is responsible for adding tracking code to their campaigns if they wish to track how many clicks their links receive.
If you use Google Analytics, you can track campaigns via their URL Builder tool.
Javascript may not be used in email campaigns. Tracking code must be HTML only.
Detailed message statistics are available for past email campaigns. Please login to this site and access the messages page.
Terms for advertising with Cape Town news is payment in full in advance for a contiguous period with no refunds or carryovers.
Cape Town news started operating in August 2004. Since then our subscriber base has grown from 10 000 to over 100 000 (for comparison, the Cape Times has a circulation of 45 000 and the Cape Argus is about 84 000). We send to mostly business owners and office workers over the age of 25. Over 60% of our subscribers live in Cape Town or surrounding areas. Approximately 30% are in Gauteng. The rest are in KZN, elsewhere in South African and abroad. Female:male ratio of subscribers is approximately 60:40. LSM 6 - 10.
Since January 2009, our mailing list has been distributed by software developed in house (ctnlist). You can see what messages we have previously sent by browsing the archives on this site.
Cape Town news has a proven and established formula powered by reliable custom software. I am looking for business people willing and able to expand the Cape Town news franchise into other areas of South Africa. If you're interested in working from home, have a keen interest in local news and people and want to help your local community by promoting interesting events, products and services to your targeted community you should contact me if you are serious about establishing a similar mailing list operation.
